The story in a few words

"Terra Mia Terra Nostra" is more than a family movie. Through the life of characters we first met 14 years ago, the film tackles the universal question of belonging to a particular country. It looks at the clash of languages, traditions and cultures, as well as the passage of generations that means memories are lost to an imaginary Italy. Today's life is elsewhere. The sense of double belonging and of dual nationality is transposed into a constant search for meaning. Where can one find balance? How can one define oneself?
Donato Rotunno was born in Luxembourg in 1966. He attended the European School in his native country. In 1992, he graduated in film studies from the Institut des Arts de Diffusion in Louvain-la-neuve, in Belgium. Donato co-founded Tarantula Luxembourg in 1994. As a producer with Tarantula, Donato has overseen over 18 feature films.

His career as a director includes short film: Fishtrip and documentaries about specific Luxembourg themes such as integration and left-wing politics. He also directed Landscape with a Corpse, a 30-minute feature inspired by the works of Japanese photographer Izima Kaoru. Donato Rotunno’s first full-length feature film, In A Dark Place, starred Leelee Sobieskie and tara Fitzgerald and won the director an award for best artistic contribution at the 2007 Lëtzebuerger Filmpräis.

Actually, he's editing his next feature film : Baby(a)lone, based on the novel Amok by Tullio Forgiarini, and working with Jean Portante on an original script.
